Adventures in Christmas Shopping
I went shopping for my wife's christmas presents in a mall called Lakeside. Laskeside is a two floor, large structure. I went alone, as is always the case when I do Christmas shopping. I mostly shop for ideas to start with. What would she like, what's new, etc.
I hadn't been to lakeside in a while, so I started on the top floor, walked the entire upper level, I entered stores that caught my attention. I listened to people conversations, tried to get a feel for what's popular. Then I walked the entire bottom floor, I sampled the Cinnimon rolls at Cinnabon, I got a smoothie from a surfing themed vendor called Surf City Squeeze. I spent maybe two hours butterflying around the mall drinking in culture and gathering information that day. I made some purchases and left to go home.
As I was loading the car, I realized that at some point in my adventure, I had tore my pants. The cool winter wind against my legs and ass was a silent red flag that for up to two hours, I had unknowningly been the subject of ridicule and the butt of everyone's jokes in a large mall during the height of the Christmas shopping season.
In dissappointment and morally defeated, I got myself in the car, and drove home.
