The Psychosis of Michael Beard (p1)

I met with a new patient today. A most intriguing character. His name was Michael Beard. He claimed to be suffering from some sort of primal urges. He wouldn't go into details, but seemed genuinely afraid of the consequences of letting these urges take control of him. The patient expressed that he had these urges since he was a child but had somehow managed to avoid succumbing to them by using various forms of self-distraction. Again, he politley refused to be more specific. At this point, I can't tell whether he is searching for answers or is just lonely. My suspicions lead to that latter as he seems to be a very calm and passive man. He was incredibly polite but the deeper I pushed the more avoidant he became. I think he is merely trying to deceive me and possibly himself as well perhaps for the attention, I'm not sure. I look forward to our next meeting.
