Roasting the Pop Singers
In this day and age of movie remakes and cover songs, the illusion of the pop star is a difficult one to save against (DC 25 Will, at least.) A STAR IS BORN!! Is it talent to be able to have your voice remastered to sound good? I would agree that it's talent to write software that would do that. I would say, to get CD quality sound OUT of Paris Hilton's throat when SOOO much is going INTO it to clog it up would take a fucking software masterpiece. But alas, we programmers are geniuses and the electronic drano removed all debris and a CD was produced, not that it's original or even good. I heard some snipits on Drew & Mike. You can say it was less than a positive review. Back in the 80's, before said software. Singers Lip Synced to other singers. This was fraud. Pretending to sing when the sound came from someplace else. Milli Vanilli for example. They got busted on MTV live also. There's a whole behind the music special segment available on YouTube on those guys (The actual skip incident is here. It's at the very end.). But Ashlee Simpson getting busted on SNL and then showing her true talents at the Orange Bowl isn't a Fraud? Maybe it's because she's the 2nd spawn of Joe that nobody cares, maybe because it is Hollywood Politics. I don't know, I listen to a different format. In any case, I guess my overall point is. It does take special qualities to sing. It really isn't a pick up and go job, otherwise I'd do it to make a shitload of money. But as it turns out, if I write good software I could pretty much promote anybody that would look good on an album cover. It's my belief that the entire pop genre is fake in this sense. Show me real artists please, I need new blood.
