NFL Week 2
Another NFL Sunday is in the books and many things aren't panning out the way people expected. It's far too early to be sure of anything, but we're starting to get an idea who is on the upswing this season and who is stuck in neutral. Green Bay lost at home to the lowly Cleveland Browns this week, making Trent Dilfer look like an all-pro QB one week after making Lions QB Joey Harrington look good. (Someone actually picked up Dilfer from the waiver wire in one of my fantasy leagues!) A look at the standings shows Chicago and Detroit at the top of the division while winless Green Bay and Minnesota sit in last place. I mean, OMGWTF? And holy hell is Daunte Culpepper stinking the place up. His 2004 stats: 39 TD 11 INT; His 2005 stats thusfar: 0 TD 8 INT. At this rate, he'd wind up with 0 TD 64 INT this season. That would be, like, a record. Bucs rookie RB Carnell Williams also topped 100 yards rushing for the second straight week. Byunga!!
5 TD, 600+ yards over the first two games for Carson Palmer. Things look promising.
So far, the Colts defense has been terrific. If they're still playing terrific come January, Indy should be playing for the Lombardi Trophy. The Bengals are also looking quite good thusfar, and Carson Palmer is making me look like a smart man for drafting him in both of my leagues. The entire AFC East division have 1-1 records, proving that some things never change. The defending champs finally lost this week to Carolina in a rematch of the Super Bowl from a couple of years ago. Meanwhile, Kansas City seems content to split carries between RBs Priest Holmes and Larry Johnson - good move for KC, bad news for fantasy league owners. Both of my fantasy league teams are in the lead: The Pointy Sticks have a 2-0 record locked up and unless Drew Bledsoe and Keyshawn Johnson have great games tonight the Ft Gratiot Genitals will move to 2-0 and defeat the Hemroids. No flare up for you.
If the Colts defense keeps beating the shit out of people, they might be Super Bowl bound.
My week 2 Super Bowl prediction is neither bold nor spicy: Philadelphia and New England. Bleh.
