The Life and Times of Mr_Nuts

I've been keeping myself busy these days. Well, busy sometimes and not so busy at other times, not that I consider that a bad thing. Indeed, doing nothing is one of my favorite pasttimes. Always has been. And as some of you know, I tend to withdraw into my cave of non-interaction and non-correspondence for long periods of time. You guys are all Nuts in a can and all, it's just how I function. I am Nuts. I am also watching Napolean Dynamite while typing this. Kip just glanced down at his plate of nachos and told Napolean he was too busy to come and get him. I love this movie.

This is what comes up when you Google "nuts."

- Since finishing Dragon Quest VIII (awesome!) I've been in a bit of a lull gaming-wise. I've started bowing out of World of Warcraft. It's been a fantastic 13 months of gaming, but it's starting to wear on me. Whether I quit for good or go running back in a week or a month remains to be seen. I've been kicking some ass on Guitar Hero, which kicks ass. Both the game and my ass kicking kick ass that is.

- We've been preparing for our wedding, which is to be on April 28th. I'm sure you all knew that already unless you've forgotten because you're bad friends or because I neglected to poke my head out of the cave long enough to tell you, which is totally acceptable. After a lot of bad noise, we've gotten the F.O.P. hall reserved for the evening of the 28th. There'll be music and possibly food. Plus Kat and I will be there, which is awesome. (Related movie quote: "I don't want FOP, goddammit! I'm a Dapper Dan man.")

- I downloaded a free database program made for tracking and inventorying our DVD collection. I realize that if I were Jimbob, I'd probably whip one together faster than I could download it. Unfortunately (despite what people have claimed in the past) I am not Jimbob, and working with programming and database software makes me want to curl up into a ball and weep. Cataloguing and viewing my various collections is soothing in a way that I can't explain. Seeing all of my various games and movies sorted all nice and neat gives me an inner warmth. I'm up to entry #120: Michael.

This is the first Nuts picture that comes up when I Google "nuts."

- I hurt my back pretty badly at work last week. I got a couple of days off. Sick pay is awesome, as are days off. Needing help to do things like standing up, sitting down, walking around and getting dressed is not awesome. The chiropractor cracked me on several occasions and showed me an X-ray of my back. My spine is all squiggly, one of my discs is screwy and my insurance doesn't kick in for another month. The upside is that I get to tell coworkers to lift things for me. I'm the king.

- The time has finally come to give Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic a proper try. WoW has loosened its stranglehold on me at last!

- I'm looking forward to our D&D session this weekend. That part of me has been inactive for far too long. On a related note, I tried D&D Online this week. It's like WoW but drab and ugly with a clumsy, awful combat interface. BC would probably like the game. It's Eberron.

- I've been undergoing intensive combat training for the showdown with BC on Friday.

This is like a family newsletter but way better because it's about me.
