Same But Different Volume 1
Welcome to the first edition of Same But Different. In this article I plan to explore things that on the surface seem related, but are obviously not.
The first is Bob Denver. America's lovable little buddy Gilligan. Gilligan was first mate aboard the S.S. Minnow. He was often beaten about the head by his leader the Skipper and called a "little buddy".
By contrast, John Denver was a folk singer. He loved mountians, nature, and booze. He died tragically in a plane crash, while Bob Denver continues to live his dream.
The first is Jessica Simpson. I have no idea how Ms. Simpson spawned, nor do I care. She is a quote unquote "singer." She's dumber than discarded toenail clippings. She has a reality show with her husband where her intelligence often shows through. Her sister is a flop that couldn't sing her way out of a paper bag and needs untold technological marvels to get her voice on CD's.
The Second is Homer Simpson. Like Jessica, I don't know alot about his beginnings. More than likely, they both spawned on MTV. Homer has a brain the size of a lugnut. He's been on TV since I was in junior high. Homer had a brother that flopped as a business man and ended up homeless.
